#Women's Day | Meet Naémie Valette!

Where are you based?

Hi to the Algologie team, my name is Naé, I'm 27 years old and I'm originally from Orléans (a long way from the ocean, but today I could never leave it). I've moved around a lot since I graduated (Tours, Lyon, Ireland, Pornichet) and I've been living in Rennes for the past 4 years. In love with Brittany, I intend to stay ;)

What is your sea-related activity?

I'm a communications manager. I have a multi-employer contract, which means that I work for various companies/associations/independents linked to training and committed to the challenges of the ecological transition.

The common thread running through my work is the following: Preparing the younger generation for the world to come, for the transition that's underway, for tomorrow's world - what does this mean in concrete terms?

- For the IGC Business School Group and the Formatives Network: through training (CSR reinforced in our training guidelines, Soft Skills, Green Economy...)

- For the Ocean As Common association: through the Regeneration program, since the ecosystems that support life on Earth are the legacy we are leaving to younger generations.

These two components, "training/education/awareness" and "preservation/regeneration", are two essential pillars of the ecological and social transition and of support for the younger generations.

- Alongside Jean-Marie Patier, manager and skipper:

For the values of sailing, seamanship and ocean racing, which are the same as those that should drive the transition and the younger generations: team spirit and collective intelligence, a taste for effort and challenge, innovation and imagination, respect and humility in the face of Nature, frugality and simplicity for a taste of the essential...

What does it involve?

So, my job is not directly linked to the ocean (except for the skipper), but rather to facilitating the realization of projects. It's a fantastic job that combines passion, commitment, perseverance and, above all, people!

I'm also a volunteer lifeguard, having worked for 5 years as a first-aid crew member at various levels of responsibility.

How is the sea a source of well-being for you?

Today, the ocean is a way of life for me, a real source of energy, a playground of intense joy... (sea rescue, surfing, wakeboarding, sailing). I have enormous respect for this element, I'm thirsty to learn, I'm nourished every day by this universe and this energy, and I'm committed to preserving this environment.
