Kir Breton (A Must)
The quintessential Breton classic.
Ingredients:
- 2 cl blackcurrant liqueur (or another local syrup: blackberry, raspberry…)
- 10 cl brut Breton cider
Preparation:
Pour the blackcurrant liqueur into a flute or stemmed glass. Top up with well-chilled cider. Serve immediately, without stirring.
Tip: Personalise your Kir Breton with raspberry or apple liqueur to vary the flavours while keeping things local. Serve with a few buckwheat pancakes for a true Breton apéritif.
Pomme Royale
A Breton twist on the Kir Royal.
Ingredients:
- 2 cl Calvados or apple liqueur
- 10 cl brut cider or Breton sparkling wine (if available)
Preparation:
Pour the Calvados into a flute, then top up with the cider or sparkling wine. Serve well chilled.
Breizh Amer
A simple, slightly bitter apéritif.
Ingredients:
- 2 cl Pommeau de Bretagne
- 6 cl brut cider
- A dash of Breton bitter (or Amer-style bitters)
